The land of Goshen was a place of divine provision for Israel during famine, but what began as refuge eventually turned into a place of bondage. In this teaching, we uncover the hidden lessons of Goshen: Was it simply God’s provision, or did it become a place of punishment when the people stayed too long? Discover how Goshen represents the seasons of life where God provides for survival, but also how overstaying in “provision mode” can lead to captivity. Learn how this timeless lesson applies to our walk with God today—when to embrace His provision and when to move forward into His promises.
This is Part 2 of the Sunday School Teaching from (8/18/25). Most of the time when you hear the story of Goshen, you only hear of the good and the plenty, not the consequence! Like Israel, we must recognize when Goshen has served its purpose. What begins as provision can become prison if we stay past God’s timing. The key is to stay sensitive to His voice, embrace transition, and keep moving toward the promise.
